How does this site work?
When it's stolen, report it here. Give us as much information about the item as you can - serial numbers too, if you have them. Someone, somewhere will come across your stolen stuff. If they also use Getitback.co.za, your chances of getting your stuff back skyrockets.

How much does it cost?
The site is free. When we hear that the site helps people to get their stuff back, that is payment enough for us.

Can you guarantee that I will get it back?
Unfortunately not. We simply give you a great way to get the information out there. Then it is up to your fellow Getitback users to contact you when they find your stuff.

Do you work with the police?
The South African Police Service, other government organisations and private security companies can all make use of this service to help them serve you better, but we are not affiliated with any of them in any way. This is a private initiative.

If I report it here, should I still report it to the police?
Yes, that is highly recommended. We do not automatically file reports on your behalf when you report theft here. Head to your nearest police station and report it there first. Then also list it on this site to increase your chances of getting it back.
